Artwork by Jen Stark
Jen Stark, whose kaleidoscopic paper sculptures we introduced in Hi-Fructose Vol. 20, has been busy creating a new body of work for her first Los Angeles solo show, “To the Power Of,” which debuts at Martha Otero Gallery on September 28, 2012.
Equally interested in mathematics as she is in spirituality, Stark explores the harmonious rhythms that govern the universe as demonstrated by sacred religious symbols and equations alike. Unlike any natural phenomenon that can be observed by the naked human eye, her psychedelic works visualize intersections of time and space that the mind is hard-pressed to comprehend. Take a look at some exclusive shots from Jen Stark’s studio, as well as some of the finished pieces in the show.
